About Our Transmitter WBCQ

BY TELEPHONE:

WBCQ is an international Short-wave station transmitting from Monticello, Maine, USA. Using a 50,000 watt transmitter into a special, super-high-technology "log-periodic" 14 db gain, BEAM antenna, WBCQ has a "effective radiated power" of 725,000 watts on a worldwide clear channel at 7.415 MHz. This enormous output can be heard in almost every major city in the U.S.1, plus Canada, while on its way to Mexico, Central and South America! On the map below, Yellow is very reliable signal coverage, Orange is generally reliable.

1 WBCQ does not broadcast to the United States; it broadcasts only to foreign nations. Reception of WBCQ in the US is an unintended but unavoidable consequence of regular operation.
